Men’s Golf Ranked No. 14 in GCAA Poll

NORMAN, Okla. –The Red Raider men's golf team has received a No. 14 ranking in the preseason edition of the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Coaches Poll, presented by Bushnell and Golfweek.

Northwestern opened its season earlier this week, winning the team title by shooting 19 under par at the Mid-South Classic. In the win, Northwestern defeated 10 teams represented in the GCAA poll, including top-15 teams Friends (Kan.), Marian (Ind.), Texas Wesleyan and Wayland Baptist. Axton Miller won the individual title with a three-round total of 206 (-10) followed by Nate Carlson's second place finish at 207 (-9).

Keiser (Fla.) received all 11 first-place votes. Dalton State (Ga.), Reinhardt (Ga.), Friends (Kan.), and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) rounded out the top five.

The Raiders will take the course again on September 14-15 for the Siouxland Invite at The Ridge and Landsmeer Golf Club.
