GPAC Domination Continues in Saturday Sweep
 
Orange City, Iowa — Northwestern defeated College of Saint Mary (NE) 3-0 on Saturday, winning by set scores of 25-11, 25-15, 25-15. The Red Raiders hit .314 with 41 kills while holding the Flames to a .000 hitting percentage and 24 kills.
 
After CSM stayed within 7-5 early, the Raiders pushed the first set to 11-5 with kills from Stella Winterfeld and Jadyn Hofmeyer before extending the score to 16-6 behind two blocks involving Maddy Sampson and Winterfeld. The Flames answered with three straight points to get to 16-9, including a Kennedy Buck kill and a block by Buck and Azaria Green. Northwestern responded with a 6-0 run to 22-9, as Sidney Oostra served an ace and Aubrey De Groot put down consecutive kills, then closed the set 25-11 on a CSM attack error.
 
After the teams traded points to a 5-5 tie, the Flames moved in front 6-5 on Maleigha Johnson's ace, but the Red Raiders answered with a Halie Kapelke kill, an attack error and back-to-back Hofmeyer kills to move ahead 9-6 before Hofmeyer's next kill made it 10-7. With the lead at 12-10, Winterfeld's kill returned the serve to Northwestern, and Nyah Potthoff served five straight points that included two aces, kills by Winterfeld and Kapelke, and an Aubrey De Groot kill to stretch the score to 18-10. CSM took the next three points to get within 18-13, but Winterfeld put down a kill for 19-13 and then served four straight Red Raiders points, including two Hofmeyer kills, to push the lead to 23-13. Kennedy Buck's kill stopped that run, a Mya Weber attack error brought up set point, and after Weber answered with a kill, Kapelke closed the 25-15 set with a kill from Oostra.
 
After the set was tied at 1-1, Winterfeld had three early kills as Northwestern moved in front 6-2 with help from an Aubrey De Groot block and a Potthoff ace. CSM got back within 8-6, but the Red Raiders scored the next five points, including a Kapelke-Sampson block, a Madi Nemmers ace and a Kapelke kill, to make it 13-6. The Flames answered with four straight points to cut the margin to 13-10 before Northwestern rebuilt the lead behind a Sampson kill, an Anni Wedgbury ace, a Maggie Bloom ace and another Sampson kill for a 19-11 advantage. Aubree Shields added two late kills, and Bella Sysa followed with a kill before combining with Hofmeyer on the final block to close the set 25-15.

• Stella Winterfeld led the Raiders with 17 kills while adding 11 digs and 3 blocks.
• Jadyn Hofmeyer hit .533 with 8 kills on 15 attempts.
• Sidney Oostra led the defense with 17 digs in the match.

Up Next: The Raiders hit the road to Nebraska where they will play Hastings on Friday, October 2. Then, they will travel to Crete on Saturday the 3^rd to take on the Doane Tigers.
