Overwatch to Travel to Texas for Esports Nationals

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Northwestern Overwatch team has been invited to the FORGE Scholastic Esports Championship, which is set to take place from May 15-17 in San Antonio, Texas, at the Boeing Center at Tech Port. This LAN tournament will bring together eight top Overwatch teams from across the nation, showcasing the highest level of competition in NECC Division I esports.

Among the esteemed teams competing, Northwestern College's Overwatch team has earned a coveted invite by accumulating enough points throughout the NECC season. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the Raiders as they prepare to face off against some of the best collegiate teams in the country.

"It is an amazing opportunity to be a part of the first NECC Division 1 Nationals appearance for Northwestern College. This tournament features only the top performing collegiate teams of the year and NWC Overwatch more than deserves to be one of them," said Director of Esports Avery Geesaman. "This team has worked diligently on their skills this year and is greatly looking forward to competing on the big stage."

The event promises to be a highlight in the esports calendar, with all games being played in person, adding an extra layer of excitement and intensity to the matches. Fans and esports enthusiasts who are unable to attend in person can still catch all the action live on twitch.tv/rallycryofficial, where each game will be streamed for fans to watch anywhere.
