Strong Performances Propel Northwestern at Home Meet

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College secured multiple event victories at the Red Raider Open, highlighted by Brielle Engelmann's first-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.00 and Mya Van Donge's win in the 100-meter dash clocking in at 12.71 seconds.

Northwestern hosted the Red Raider Open at De Valois Stadium, where Engelmann secured a first-place finish in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:02.00. Van Donge also excelled, clinching first in the 100 Meter Dash in 12.71 seconds. In the relay events, the Red Raiders' A team claimed victory in the 4x100 Meter Relay, clocking a time of 48.84, while the A team also took first in the 4x800 Meter Relay with a time of 9:43.93.

In the field events, Addison Smith achieved a first-place finish in the High Jump, clearing a height of 1.62 meters and winning the jump-off. Kenzie Harder delivered a strong performance in the Long Jump, earning second place with a leap of 5.65 meters. Payton Kleinhesselink demonstrated versatility by securing third in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 15.86 and finishing second in the 400 Meter Hurdles at 1:09.09.

Sprints
Northwestern had strong performances in the sprints, with Van Donge securing first place in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 12.71. Engelmann also claimed victory in the 400 Meter Dash, finishing in 1:02.00.

Middle Distance
Brooklyn Fryar placed fourth in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:29.78.

Distance
In the 1500 Meter Run, Emily DeGroot finished fourth with a time of 5:00.57. Kayden Spencer took fifth place in the 5000 Meter Run, recording a time of 19:28.60.

Hurdles
Payton Kleinhesselink placed third in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 15.86 and secured second in the 400 Meter Hurdles, finishing in 1:09.09.

Jumps
Addison Smith achieved first place in the High Jump with a height of 1.62m. Harder secured second place in the Long Jump with a distance of 5.65m.

Throws
Jenna Vande Weerd placed sixth in the Javelin Throw with a distance of 32.30m. Lilli Gustaf placed sixth in the Shot Put, reaching a distance of 11.97m.
