ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College athletics has named men's basketball student-athlete
Jesse Van Kalsbeek and women's track and field student-athlete
Kenzie Harder as the Raider Athletes of the Week, presented by American State Bank, for their performances during the week of March 9th.
MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jesse Van Kalsbeek, Men's Basketball
- Van Kalsbeek (So., Sheldon, Iowa) helped lead his team to a GPAC Tournament title with a 26 point performance.
- The sophomore shot just under 65% from the floor while adding 11 rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
- Van Kalsbeek was also named First-Team All GPAC and the GPAC Player of the Year, averaging 28.2 ppg, 12.3 rpg, and 4.8 apg.
FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Kenzie Harder, Women's Track & Field
- Harder (Fr., Storm Lake, Iowa) placed 8th in long jump at NAIA Nationals earning herself All-American status.
- The junior's jump of 5.74 meters made her the first indoor All-American fro Northwestern since 2021.
- Harder's 4x400m team placed 17th in the field with a time of 3:55.84.
