American State Bank Raider Athletes of the Week

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College athletics has named baseball student-athlete Grant Guidry and softball student-athlete Allison Koontz as the Raider Athletes of the Week, presented by American State Bank, for their performances during the week of February 9th.

MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Grant Guidry, Baseball

Guidry (So. Yantis, Texas) dominated at the plate over three games going nine for eleven with nine RBIs, three homeruns, and no strikeouts.
The sophomore exploded in Saturday's 19-6 win over McPherson, with four hits, seven RBIs, and two homeruns.
Guidry also has eight putouts and no errors in the field across three games.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Allison Koontz, Softball

Koontz (Fr., Glenwood, Iowa) had a strong showing in her debut, pitching 14.2 innings with a .95 ERA. and credited with a 3-1 record.
The freshman pitched a seven-inning shutout against York allowing two hits, one walk, and a strikeout.
Koontz also pitched five innings in a tight 2-1 win over Mount Mercy, allowing five hits, one run, and a strikeout.
