How It Happened
The Raiders' offense came alive with a big six-run seventh inning, racking up 13 hits and an patient 17 walks throughout the game.

In the fifth, they took advantage of McPherson's defensive slips. Devin Dirkx's single and a series of errors let two more runs slip through, bringing it to 4-3.

The sixth inning saw Northwestern take the lead for good. Grant Rychnovsky's double drove in a run, and a passed ball allowed another to score. Nikolai Wede's single added the third run of the inning, putting the Raiders ahead 6-4.

The eighth saw five more runs for the Raiders, thanks to a hit-by-pitch, stretching the advantage to 17-4. McPherson fought back with a six-run rally in their half of the inning, but Northwestern still held a strong 17-10 lead heading into the final frame.
