Langsy’s Historic Night Fuels Northwestern to GPAC Win

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Jalen Langsy made the most threes for a Raider in a game since 1989-90 as Northwestern's second-half surge downed Dordt 105-86.

The action kicked off with Northwestern grabbing early momentum as Brennan Reid sank an opening three-pointer, set up by Jalen Langsy. The teams traded leads in the early minutes, but Reid's sharp shooting and Langsy's playmaking kept the Raiders on par with the Defenders.

As the first half progressed, Northwestern found their rhythm from beyond the arc, nailing 10 of 16 three-point attempts. This long-range accuracy, along with a defensive effort that included three blocks, thwarted the Defenders' efforts to break away. The Red Raiders captured the lead, pushing it to a seven-point advantage with 4:23 left on the clock.

The half wrapped up with Langsy hitting a triple with 11 seconds to go, giving Northwestern a 51-45 edge heading into the break.

Northwestern wasted no time extending their lead in the second half. Langsy connected on an early three-pointer at 19:26 and followed it up with a steal at 18:53, keeping the energy high. Jesse Van Kalsbeek contributed vital points in the paint, further solidifying the Raiders' command. Their defense stood strong, forcing turnovers and converting them into points to widen the gap.

Throughout the half, the Raiders were relentless. Langsy's barrage of three-pointers and layups increased their cushion, while Reid and Kaleb Booth orchestrated the offense with timely assists. By the final buzzer, Northwestern held a decisive lead, closing the game at 105-86.
