Efficient First Half Leads Raiders to Fifth in a Row

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern pulled off a commanding 93-67 victory over Doane on Saturday at the Bultman Center. The Red Raiders were on fire, shooting 65.5% from the field and racking up 48 points in the paint.

The action kicked off with Northwestern setting the pace early. Jesse Van Kalsbeek got the day rolling with a free throw, Manny Hammonds quickly followed with a layup, and Jalen Langsy nailed a triple to put the Raiders ahead 6–0. They kept the momentum going, converting 25 out of 32 field goals and stacking up 32 points in the paint by halftime.

As the first half went on, the Raiders stretched their lead with key plays from several contributors. Brennan Reid chipped in with a layup and a free throw, while Langsy sank another shot from beyond the arc. Northwestern's defense was on point, holding the Tigers to a mere 10 field goals on 32 attempts, allowing the Raiders to build a significant lead. Isaac Cordes capped off the half with a three-pointer at the buzzer, putting Northwestern firmly in control at 62–25.

The second half saw Northwestern sustain its solid lead, thanks to efficient scoring in the paint. Van Kalsbeek was pivotal, grabbing rebounds and dishing out assists, including a layup facilitated by Reid at the 17:03 mark. The Raiders' defense shone with multiple steals, as Van Kalsbeek took advantage of turnovers to further widen the gap.

Despite the Tigers' efforts to cut into the deficit with a few successful shots from downtown, Northwestern consistently countered with timely buckets. Langsy added a trey at 10:11, and his layup at 8:55 pushed the lead even further. The Raiders wrapped up the game strong, sealing a comfortable 93-67 triumph by the end of the contest.
