De Groot Earns First Career GPAC Honor

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern opposite hitter Aubrey De Groot has been selected as the GPAC Attacker of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports. It is the first time in her career that she has earned a GPAC weekly honor.

"Aubrey has had a great start to the season and has really come on strong the last two to three weeks," head coach Kyle Van Den Bosch said. "She and Liv Reitsma have developed a really great connection as a setter and opposite hitter. It is great to see Aubrey honored this week."

De Groot, a junior from Orange City, Iowa, led the Raiders with 11 and 13 kills in sweeps of Waldorf and College of Saint Mary. Her 13 kills on Saturday marked a career-high.

The Raiders will be at home for two matches this week, facing Hastings and Doane on Friday and Saturday.
