Northwestern Showcases Offense with 6-0 Win

FOREST CITY, Iowa – Aliza Edwards and Marissa Talamantes both scored twice as Northwestern ran away from Waldorf for a shutout win.

The match began with the Raiders taking an early initiative, as Dominga Araya's shot was saved at 6:15. The Red Raiders' offensive pressure paid off when Marissa Talamantes scored the opening goal at 22:59, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead. Lucy Staines doubled the advantage for the Raiders with a goal at 31:30, followed by Aliza Edwards' strike at 33:57, making it 3-0. Despite Waldorf's attempts, including a shot by Ryley Vigneau that was saved by Bailey Bynum, the first half concluded with the Raiders firmly in control.

The Raiders dominated the second half, beginning with a goal by Edwards in the 66th minute, assisted by Anna Hummel, to extend the lead to 4-0. Talamantes added another tally in the 72nd minute, with an assist from Staines, and Isabel Griffin capped the scoring with a goal in the 79th minute, bringing the final score to 6-0.
