Raiders Post Clean Sheet in Road Victory

OMAHA, Neb. – Northwestern posted its second consecutive shutout win on Saturday, picking up a 2-0 road win at College of Saint Mary.

Northwestern opened the first half with decisive pressure, resulting in a goal by Lucy Staines in the 20th minute, assisted by Aliza Edwards, giving them an early 1-0 lead. Edwards continued to impact the game, scoring in the 24th minute with an assist from Staines, doubling the Raiders' advantage. The Flames managed several attempts on goal, with Jimena Estrada Gomez and Yuliana Corazon testing the Northwestern goalkeeper Bailey Bynum, who made key saves to maintain the lead. Despite CSM's efforts, the Red Raiders concluded the half ahead 2-0, leveraging effective offensive exchanges and maintaining defensive solidity.

The second half saw both teams searching for a breakthrough. Olivia Regnerus tested goalkeeper Jenna Brown early in the half, but her shot was saved. Marissa Talamantes had an opportunity for the Raiders but missed wide right. CSM's Ella Klusman had consecutive attempts on goal, both saved by Bynum.
