Sinnema Resigns as Associate Athletic Director

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations Patrick Sinnema has announced his resignation from Northwestern College.

"My family and I are really grateful for the welcoming arms of the Northwestern community over the past four years, and I can't state enough how impactful it was to me to be a part of Red Raider Athletics," Sinnema stated. "President Christy, Dr. Micah Parker and Tony Hoops are outstanding leaders guiding an athletic department full of wonderful people, and I am thankful for the opportunity they've given me to walk alongside them in their journey to make Northwestern truly Stand Out."

Sinnema has served Northwestern since 2021, when he was hired as Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities. In 2023, he was elevated to Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations.

"Patrick's contributions to Raider Athletics have been outstanding over the past four years," said Vice President for Athletics Tony Hoops. "His tremendous work ethic and attention to detail elevated Raider Athletics to new heights. We are grateful for his commitment to furthering the mission of Northwestern College while honoring Christ within his excellent work."

Sinnema has been part of various projects to better serve the needs of a growing athletic department. Upon his hiring, Sinnema facilitated the completion of the Bultman Center Phase I project. In the past year, he has led the Den Hartog Athletic Complex project and the renovations of the current Bultman Center locker rooms.

In addition to overseeing various construction projects within athletics, Sinnema leads the operations of all athletic events, equipping facilities for ticketing and safety needs. Other areas of leadership included the day-to-day operations of the Rowenhorst Student Center, managing the intramurals program, and co-leading the joint-use facilities committee alongside former VP Dr. Micah Parker and current VP Tony Hoops.

"My family and I have formed lifelong friendships here, and we will have many positive memories to reflect on," Sinnema added. "It's an exciting time for Northwestern Athletics with several facility improvement projects taking shape, and I look forward to seeing how it will impact all who step foot on campus!"

Before coming to Northwestern, Sinnema was an assistant baseball coach at Dordt University from 2014-19. He also served as the Sports & Recreation Director at Gallatin Valley YMCA in Bozeman, Montana from 2012-14. Prior to those roles, he was the State Program Director at ACE Scholarships in Bozeman and a Media Relations Assistant with the Helena Brewers, a former rookie league affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.

A national search to fill the role will begin immediately.
