American State Bank Athletes of the Week

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College athletics has named men's track and field student-athlete Braden Kalvelage and women's track and field student-athlete Addison Smith as the Raider Athletes of the Week, presented by American State Bank, for their performances during the week of May 4th.

MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Braden Kalvelage, Men's Track & Field

Kalvelage (Sr., Hastings, Neb.) was named the Outstanding Athlete of the Meet at the Outdoor GPAC Championships for his dominating performance.
The senior was a GPAC Champion in three events: long jump, 200m, and the 4x100m relay. He took second in the 100m as well.
Kalvelage's winning long jump at 7.69 meters also set a new program record.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Addison Smith, Women's Track & Field

Smith (Fr., Bronson, Iowa) doubles up on All-GPAC finishes in the high jump, finishing top-three at the indoor and outdoor championship meets.
The freshman placed second in the field on Saturday with a jump of 1.62 meters.
Smith was one of six Raider women to earn All-GPAC honors on Saturday.
