Cheer Athletes Announced as Academic All-District Selections

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Northwestern competitive cheer student-athletes Kate McEwen, Allie Oberhelman, Adriana Sandbulte, and Hannah Van Maaren have been recognized with College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, the CSC office announced today.

McEwen, Oberhelman, Sandbulte, and Van Maaren all earned GPAC All-Conference honors this year, while Van Maaren was also named a Second Team NAIA All-American. They led the Raiders to their second consecutive GPAC title and another trip to the NAIA Championships, where they placed sixth.

The group becomes Northwestern's first Academic All-District selections in cheer.

Van Maaren will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced on July 8.
