Raiders to Rematch Hastings in GPAC Tournament

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Red Raider women's tennis team will look to extend its season on Friday, taking on No. 5-seeded Hastings in the GPAC tournament. Action will begin at 9:00 a.m. at First Serve Tennis Center in South Sioux City, Nebraska.
Northwestern took down Hastings 5-2 on the road on April 11.

THE RAIDER REPORT
The Raiders are 9-9 on the season with a 3-3 GPAC record, earning the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament. Northwestern is looking for its first 10-win season since 2014-15.

Pietra Ferreira leads the team with 10 wins in her first season, picking up seven wins at the No. 1 singles position. In doubles, the pairing of Ferreira and Julia VandenBerg pace the Raiders with an 8-7 record, going 4-2 against conference opponents.

SCOUTING THE BRONCOS
The Broncos hold an 8-11 overall record, going 2-4 in GPAC play. Last time out, Hastings defeated Nebraska Wesleyan 4-3 after dropping a match to Northwestern in their previous outing.

WHAT'S AT STAKE
The winner of Friday's match will advance to the GPAC semifinals, facing top-seeded Morningside at approximately 1:00 p.m., also on Friday.
