Raiders Repeat as GPAC Champions, Miller Wins Individual Title

BEATRICE, Neb. – The Red Raider men's golf team pulled away on Monday and used a stellar third round on Tuesday to clinch their second consecutive GPAC team title. Axton Miller won the GPAC individual title, becoming Northwestern's 10th GPAC champion in program history.

Northwestern's 277 in the third round is the top single-round score in GPAC Championships history and is tied for fourth in program history. All five Raiders placed in the top 15 individually and four were in the top five.

The Raiders have now won 10 GPAC team championships, including eight under Aaron Aberson.

Northwestern held a 21-stroke lead after the first two rounds, shooting 289 (+1) and 285 (-3) to start the tournament. Both Miller and Qwenton Caldwell were sitting two under after Monday's action before Miller shot a 67 in the third round to clinch the title.

Holding a one-shot advantage heading into the 18th hole on Tuesday, Miller completed a birdie to round out the day and put an exclamation point on a stellar freshman campaign.

Northwestern received the GPAC's automatic bid to the NAIA Championships, which will be held May 20-23 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
