Raiders Fall in GPAC Semifinals

SEWARD, Neb. – Northwestern's GPAC tournament run came to an end, falling 67-61 to No. 11 Concordia (Neb.).

The first half opened with the Bulldogs taking an early lead, but the Raiders quickly responded with a successful three by Jalen Langsy off an assist from Jesse Van Kalsbeek at 19:07. Kaleb Booth contributed a trey at 17:35, assisted by Van Kalsbeek, helping the Raiders briefly take the lead. Despite consistent efforts and a total of seven steals by the Raiders, Concordia's strong performance in the paint and a series of successful free throws allowed them to establish a nine-point lead by the 2:22 mark, ending the half with a 37-28 Bulldog lead.

In the second half, the Red Raiders narrowed the gap with a strong offensive performance, outscoring the Bulldogs 33-30. Zach LaFave scored early with a layup at 19:47, while Conner Geddes contributed significantly with a layup at 17:24 and a three-pointer at 16:43. Van Kalsbeek added to the tally with a dunk at 7:38, and later on, he made crucial free throws in the final minute, reducing the deficit to 66-61. Despite these efforts, Concordia held off the Raiders to advance to the GPAC title game.

GAME NOTES
  • Jalen Langsy led the Raiders with 18 points, also putting up three assists and three blocks.
  • Jesse Van Kalsbeek notched a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds.
  • Conner Geddes made three shots from downtown, scoring 16 points on the day.
  • Grant Tigges blocked three shots and secured a rebound.
