Northwestern Spoils Concordia Winning Streak

Orange City, IA - #16 Northwestern College hosted #13 Concordia in the Bultman Center and snapped the Bulldogs' 12 game winning streak with a final score of 87-70.

The Raiders had a strong start to the first half, with Kaleb Booth opening the scoring. Jalen Langsy followed with a 3-pointer, assisted by Booth, contributing to an early lead. The Raiders maintained their momentum, capitalizing on the Bulldogs' turnovers. Zach LaFave and Jesse Van Kalsbeek were key contributors, with LaFave making a notable 3-pointer at 9:48 remaining and Van Kalsbeek scoring multiple layups. The team extended their lead to as much as 12 points by 3:40 thanks to back and forth threes from both squads. Despite the Bulldogs' attempts to close the gap, the Raiders ended the half leading 42-33.

In the second half, the Raiders' Jalen Langsy made an early impact with a 3-pointer at 18:35, marking the beginning of a strong offensive performance. Zach LaFave contributed significantly with a series of successful plays, including a 3-pointer at 16:20 and a notable dunk at 1:20, extending the Raiders' lead. Jesse Van Kalsbeek was also crucial, scoring consistently and securing rebounds, helping the Raiders maintain their advantage and ending the half with a 45-37 edge over the Bulldogs. Northwestern secured the win with multiple trips to the free throw line for the 17 point victory, 87-70.

  • The freshman duo of Jalen Langsy and Jesse Van Kalsbeek scored 22 a piece to lead the team
  • Grant Tigges scored a career high 8 points while drawing momentous fouls late in the second half
