Raiders Stunned in Final Seconds

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – A last-second shot gave No. 8 Dordt the tiebreaking score as No. 16 Northwestern fell 81-79 in Sioux Center.

Northwestern showed some early offensive efforts with Alex Van Kalsbeek scoring the first basket at 18:31, assisted by Kaleb Booth. The Raiders maintained a competitive pace, highlighted by a notable three-pointer from Jalen Langsy at 2:04, narrowing the gap to a six-point deficit. Despite the team's efforts, including a fast-break layup by Jesse Van Kalsbeek, the Defenders managed to pull ahead, leading 47-37 at the break.

In the second half, Langsy made a significant impact for the Raiders by making a trio of threes, contributing to the team's strong offensive performance. Alex Van Kalsbeek was active in the paint, adding several key layups and dunks, while also securing crucial rebounds and a block. Trailing by two in the final 30 seconds, Alex Van Kalsbeek faced up his defender and took it to the rim for two to knot it at 79-79. Dordt then raced down the floor, finding Jake Hargens in the last second to push in a short jumper for the win.
