How It Happened
A five-run fifth inning propelled the Red Raiders to a 7-1 victory over Science and Arts in game one on Monday.

Northwestern opened the scoring in the third inning when Chloe Gallegos hit a single to center field, driving in Gwen Mikkelsen who had advanced to second earlier. This put the Red Raiders on the board with a 1-0 lead. The Drovers responded in the fourth inning, scoring an unearned run on a passed ball and tying the game at 1-1.

The turning point came in the fifth inning for the Raiders, when they capitalized with five runs. Tatum Schmalbeck started the inning with a walk and eventually scored on a double by Gallegos. Following an error, the Raiders added two more unearned runs. Maddie Kvatek hit a double to drive in another unearned run, and Charli Bomgaars contributed with an RBI single, bringing the score to 6-1 in favor of the Raiders.

In the sixth inning, the Raiders extended their lead further. Schmalbeck scored again after reaching base on a walk and being driven in by a single from Gallegos, increasing the lead to 7-1. The pitching and defense held strong through the seventh, preventing any further runs from USAO, securing the Raiders' victory with a final score of 7-1.

How It Happened
Northwestern's comeback bid fell short as Science and Arts completed a walk-off win in game two.

The Red Raiders started strong in the first inning, securing three hits, with Jori Hajek, Ashtyn Billings, and Gwen Mikkelsen all reaching base. However, all three runners were stranded to end the fram. In the second inning, Cassidy Gors managed a single and then stole second, but the Raiders were unable to capitalize further, leaving one runner aboard.

In the third inning, the Drovers gained momentum, scoring five runs on six hits. The inning included an RBI single and a two-RBI double, putting USAO ahead 5-0. The Raiders struggled to respond initially but turned the game around in the sixth inning.

During the sixth inning, the Raiders rallied with five runs on four hits. Gors's two-RBI double sparked the comeback, followed by a three-RBI double from Mikkelsen to tie the game at 5-5. Although the Raiders added another run in the seventh inning, the Drovers responded with two runs of their own to secure the narrow 7-6 win.
