Northwestern Tallies Convincing Road Win

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern clinched a top-three seed in the GPAC tournament with a dominant road performance tonight, defeating Briar Cliff 98-70.

The Red Raiders opened the first half strong against the Chargers, with Kaleb Booth scoring from beyond the arc just six seconds into the game. Jesse Van Kalsbeek made significant contributions with multiple baskets and defensive rebounds, helping the Raiders extend their lead. Despite Briar Cliff's attempts to close the gap, the Raiders maintained their advantage. Jalen Langsy's consistent performance further widened the lead, and Northwestern finished the half ahead 55-31. The Raiders capitalized on Briar Cliff's turnovers, converting them into points, while maintaining a robust defensive effort throughout the half.

The second half began with Van Kalsbeek scoring a two for the Raiders at 19:44, setting the tone for the visitors. The half saw Northwestern extending their lead, highlighted by a series of successful free throws by Kaleb Booth, who scored four consecutive points between 10:13 and 10:05. The half closed with Northwestern outscoring Briar Cliff, with a final score of 98-70 in favor of the Raiders, solidifying their control throughout the second half.
