Raiders Complete Comeback Win on Senior Day

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern trailed by as many as 17 points and erased a double-digit halftime deficit, ending the regular season with a 102-92 win over Waldorf.

The first half saw a strong offensive performance by the Warriors, who led 51-38 by the end of the period. The Red Raiders, led by Zach LaFave and Jalen Langsy, managed to keep pace early, with LaFave scoring with a layup and a free throw at 18:31 to tie the game at 3-3. Langsy contributed significantly with a three-pointer at 15:33 and later with a jumper at 5:00, narrowing the gap during an intense stretch of play. Despite trailing by as many as 17 points earlier in the half, the Raiders stayed competitive with key plays from Kaleb Booth and Jesse Van Kalsbeek, who contributed with layups and assists to maintain momentum heading into the locker room.

In the second half, the Raiders demonstrated strong offensive play, starting with a layup by Zach LaFave at 19:50, followed by consistent scoring from Conner Geddes and Van Kalsbeek in the midst of a 19-0 run to regain the lead. The Red Raiders took control with a 16-point lead by 5:40, highlighted by Kaleb Booth's three at 13:04, which helped maintain momentum. Jalen Langsy contributed significantly with key assists and points, including a crucial jumper at 2:45, as the Raiders outscored the Warriors 64-41 in the period to secure a commanding advantage.

GAME NOTES
  • Jesse Van Kalsbeek scored a career-high 34 points, also posting eight rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.
  • Jalen Langsy went for 26 points, adding five rebounds and four assists as well.
  • Kaleb Booth (15), Conner Geddes (14), and Zach LaFave (11) also helped the Raiders put all five starters in double figures.
  • LaFave collected a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Northwestern outscored Waldorf 64-41 in the second half.
