Carson Van Sickle and competitive cheer student-athlete
Ellie Jacobson as the Raider Athletes of the Week, presented by American State Bank, for their performances during the week of February 17th.
MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Carson Van Sickle, Men's Track & Field
- Van Sickle (Fr., Ogden, Iowa) is a GPAC Champion in the 800m after his 1:54.87 time this past weekend.
- The freshman's 4x400 team would take second in the GPAC with a time of 3:23.00.
- Van Sickle's time in the 800m would be his second best mark of the season as he prepares for nationals on February 27th.
FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ellie Jacobson, Softball
- Jacobson (Sr., Humboldt, Iowa) went to 2-0 this weekend in the circle only giving up six hits and one run in 10 innings.
- On Friday, she would tie a career high of six strikeouts against York (Neb.) as well as tie her season high.
- Jacobson delivered 10 strikeouts against 41 batters faced.
