Raiders Cruise to Win on the Road

MITCHELL, S.D. – Northwestern never trailed as they bolted to an 89-71 win on the road over Dakota Wesleyan.

The Red Raiders set the tone early with Manny Hammonds scoring the opening bucket at 19:35. Jesse Van Kalsbeek was a force inside, making key plays to help secure the early lead. Jalen Langsy added to the momentum with a three-pointer at 18:14, and the Raiders continued to build their lead with sharp ball movement and solid defense.

Northwestern held control throughout the first half, taking advantage of DWU turnovers and extending their lead with a strong run late in the half. Langsy was pivotal again, nailing a layup and the and-one free throw to push the lead to 22 points with 36 seconds until the break. The half ended with the Red Raiders up 49–27.

In the second half, Northwestern kept their substantial lead. Early on, Kaleb Booth hit a triple and Van Kalsbeek added a layup, widening the gap. Langsy was instrumental with assists and another successful three-pointer that extended the lead.

Despite the Tigers' attempts to chip away late with a few three-pointers, Northwestern's steady scoring kept them in control. Luke Korver and Brennan Reid added crucial layups to sustain the momentum. The game wrapped up with the Red Raiders picking up a road victory over the Tigers, 89-71.
