ORANGE CITY, Iowa - In the Raiders first home game in over two weeks, they earn a big conference win over Waldorf led by a career-high night from
Allison Piercy in a 93-61 victory.
The Raiders came out strong in the first quarter, owning the paint with ten points and adding four more on fast breaks.
Allison Piercy was instrumental, kicking off her career-high night with a fast-break layup and an assist, ultimately racking up 25 points.
Jaelye Woudstra also made key contributions, sinking a three-pointer, helping to edge the Raiders ahead late in the quarter. Defensively, the team was sharp, recording two blocks and three steals. Despite these efforts, Waldorf's three-point shooting gave them a slight edge, ending the first quarter with an 18-17 lead over the Raiders.
Northwestern quickly erased the deficit in the second quarter, thanks to Piercy's offensive rebound and layup, igniting a series of successful plays.
Jenna Kluxdal shined with back-to-back layups and free throws, continuing her streak of 16+ points in back-to-back games. A defensive stop by Piercy led to
Ashtyn Wobig's fast-break jumper, stretching the lead to nine points midway through the quarter. As the Raiders kept the momentum, they thrived on crucial defensive rebounds and second-chance points. The quarter wrapped up with Wobig sinking two free throws, giving the Red Raiders a 39-30 lead at halftime.
