Jordan’s Two Pins Highlight Day in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa – Taye Jordan went 3-2 with a pair of pins, as Northwestern had a solid showing at the Grand View Open on Saturday.

Taye Jordan led the charge with a 3–2 outing, collecting two falls and grinding out a hard-fought 14–10 decision over Marian (Ind.)'s Aiden Woods. Ethan Skoglund added a win of his own, overpowering Colby CC's Elijah Sierra for a 12–5 decision.

Kane Butrick delivered one of the day's most dominant efforts, rolling to a 13–1 major decision against Pablo De Vidits of Southeast CC. Landon Price showed late-match composure, using a clutch third-period takedown to edge Maryville's Nehemiah Washington, 4–3.

Marcus Ball shut down Fort Hays Tech's Marcus Rodriguez in a 9–0 major decision, and Wesley Vick followed with a statement win of his own, pinning Jacob Lloyd in 2:28. Rounding out the winning performances, Zach Mayo controlled his matchup from start to finish, earning a 15–6 major decision over Friends (Kan.)'s Luke Kelley.
