Women’s Soccer Receives Three All-GPAC Nods, Edwards Named to First Team

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced its women's soccer all-conference teams, with three Raiders receiving All-GPAC distinction. Aliza Edwards was named to the conference's first team.

"This group represents what our program is all about — hard work, selflessness, and the pursuit of excellence every single day," noted head coach Vitor Pereira. "Their recognition is a reflection of the team's commitment to each other and to the standard we set together."

Aliza Edwards – First Team (Forward)
A junior from Spencer, Iowa, Edwards led the Raider offense with 11 goals, six assists, and 28 points. Her goals and points totals were tied for third in the GPAC, and she marked career highs in all offensive categories. Edwards added two game-winning goals on the season against Bethel (Kan.) and Avila (Mo.). It is the first career All-GPAC honor for Edwards.

Lucy Staines – Honorable Mention (Midfielder)
Staines scored six goals with a game-winner at College of Saint Mary, also adding four assists on the year. The junior from Redcar, England earns GPAC Honorable Mention accolades in her first season at Northwestern.

Mya Cole – Honorable Mention (Defender)
Starting 16 matches on the back line, Cole earns her first career All-GPAC nod as a sophomore. The Rapid City, South Dakota product scored her first career goal against William Penn (Iowa) and added another at Doane. She also played over 1,300 minutes and dished out three assists.

Dordt's Karinna Tel and Hastings' Megan Lampe were named the GPAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year. Rhyli Grim of Mount Marty was picked as the Newcomer of the Year, and Hade Ovendale of Hastings was named the GPAC Coach of the Year.
