Northwestern to Honor 2000-01 Championship Teams on December 13

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College is set to host an event celebrating the 25-year reunion of its 2000-01 men's and women's national championship teams. This special occasion will take place on Saturday, December 13, during the basketball doubleheader against Midland at the Bultman Center.

The day's events will begin with lunch at noon, provided by the Raider Athletic Association, in the team room of the Den Hartog Athletic Complex for all men's and women's basketball alumni who RSVP. A dedication ceremony for the newly renovated men's and women's basketball locker rooms will take place at 12:30 for the women and 12:45 for the men. This dedication will honor the legacy of head coaches Earl Woudstra and Kris Korver and their achievements throughout their NAIA Hall of Fame careers. The new locker rooms provide a fresh and personal space for the current athletes without sharing with other teams.

During the women's halftime, all women's basketball alumni will be honored followed by a recognition of the 2000-01 team in front of the home crowd. The men's halftime will feature an alumni recognition as well, followed by special recognition of the 2000-01 team. Following the men's basketball game, a group photo will be taken with members of the 2000-01 men's and women's national championship teams.
After the games, a postgame social with appetizers will be held for the 2000-01 players and their families in The Hub inside the Rowenhorst Student Center from 5:45-7:00 p.m. with a program set to begin at 6:15 p.m.

The 2000-01 national championship team celebrations are part of the annual basketball Alumni Day celebration, which brings together past and present members of the Northwestern College basketball community. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP for the celebration and postgame meal using the link sent via email. Members who did not receive an email can contact Jacki Goebel at jacki.goebel@nwciowa.edu to receive the RSVP form.
