Women’s Basketball Picked Seventh by GPAC Coaches

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Northwestern College women's basketball team has been picked seventh in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll for the 2025-26 season.

Leading the charge for the Raiders is head coach Chris Yaw, now in his 11th year at the helm, coming back to Northwestern after a four-year tenure at MOC-Floyd Valley. The team looks forward to a promising season with the return of key players such as Ashtyn Wobig, a GPAC Honorable Mention last year, along with junior forward Emily TerWee and junior guard Allison Piercy. The roster is further strengthened by senior guard Kylie Foss, sophomore Jenna Kluxdal, and sophomore Maddie Pottebaum, all of whom played significant roles in the 2024-25 season.

The full results of the GPAC Preseason Coaches' Poll are as follows:
1. Dordt - 120 pts. (10 first-place votes)
2. Dakota Wesleyan - 111 pts. (1 first-place vote)
3. Hastings - 99 pts. (1 first-place vote)
4. Briar Cliff - 86 pts.
5. Morningside - 83 pts.
6. Concordia - 73 pts.
7. Northwestern - 62 pts.
8. Mount Marty - 51 pts.
9. Doane - 44 pts.
10. Midland - 31 pts.
11. Waldorf - 18 pts.
12. College of Saint Mary - 14 pts.

Northwestern College will kick off their season at home, hosting the Pizza Ranch Classic. The Raiders are set to face off against John Brown (Ark.) and Grand View (Iowa).
