Winterfeld Adds NAIA Attacker of the Week Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northwestern outside hitter Stella Winterfeld has been selected as the NAIA Attacker of the Week for her performance last week.

She is Northwestern's second volleyball player to earn an NAIA weekly award this season, joining Zavyr Metzger.

"Stella came back to playing and really had a great weekend. Our team had two great road wins against two really good opponents," head coach Kyle Van Den Bosch commented. "Stella scored offensively at a really high level but also serving passing and defending. What a great honor for Stella and our team."

Winterfeld led the Raiders to two top-20 road wins in her return to the lineup, headlined by a 22-kill, 11-dig performance in a four-set win at No. 2 Concordia on Friday night. Less than 24 hours later, she posted 15 kills and four aces in a sweep of No. 18 Midland. Winterfeld averaged 5.29 kills per set and had 15 digs on the weekend.

The Raiders are back home on Wednesday to play Mount Marty before traveling to face Viterbo (Wis.) on Thursday.
