Women's Tennis All-GPAC Honors Announced

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – After earning a spot in the GPAC tournament, the Northwestern women's tennis team saw three singles players and two doubles teams receive All-GPAC recognition for their performances this season.

"The strength of the GPAC gets better every season," commented head coach Jamie De Jong. "We were honored to make the tournament and have players credited for solid representation of their positions."

Emily Westenberg – All-Conference (No. 6 Singles)
Westenberg (Fr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) rode a stellar GPAC season to All-Conference honors in her first collegiate season. Going 11-5 overall in singles action, Westenberg went 10-4 as Northwestern's No. 6, compiling a record of 6-2 in conference play.

Julia Kutz – Honorable Mention (Singles)
Kutz (Jr., Sheridan, Wyo.) served in Northwestern's No. 1 singles position for most of the season, going 6-11 overall. She led the team in No. 1 wins this season, winning five contests from the top position. Kutz returns to the All-Conference list after earning singles and doubles honors in 2022.

Olya Furmanova – Honorable Mention (Singles)
In her second season as a Red Raider, Furmanova (So., Minsk, Belarus) receives Honorable Mention singles honors in back-to-back seasons. She spent a majority of the season at No. 2, also serving three matches as Northwestern's No. 1. She led the team in wins, going 13-6, including an 11-5 record at No. 2 and a 2-1 record at No. 1. Furmanova finished second on the team in GPAC wins (5).

Olya Furmanova and Emily Westenberg – Honorable Mention (Doubles)
Adding to their All-Conference singles selections, the doubles team of Furmanova and Westenberg earns All-Conference honors for the first time. Playing at the No. 2 doubles spot, the duo won seven contests, finishing second on the team.

Ainslie Robinson and Hannah Beckloff – Honorable Mention (Doubles)
The team with the most doubles wins for Northwestern, Robinson (Jr., Luverne, Minn.) and Beckloff (So., Rapid City, S.D.) receives Honorable Mention accolades after going 10-7 this season. They played four matches at No. 2 with three wins, primarily playing No. 3 doubles and going 7-6. Robinson received Second Team doubles honors in 2022 alongside teammate Wynne Vandersall.

Maria Purizaca of Doane University was named the GPAC Player of the Year. Coach of the Year honors went to Morningside's Alex Struck.
