Road Stand Starts for Women’s Tennis at Concordia and Midland

SEWARD/FREMONT, Neb. – Northwestern started their three-match road streak this weekend, meeting Concordia (Neb.) on Friday and Midland on Saturday.

At the Bulldog Tennis Courts on Friday, the home Bulldogs defeated Northwestern 5-2. Concordia won all three doubles to take the best-of-three point, while singles saw Julia Anderson and Emily Westenberg take wins at No. 3 and No. 6, respectively. Westenberg dropped her first set and took the next two, while Anderson won 6-4, 6-4.

Saturday saw Northwestern and Midland move indoors to the Fremont YMCA for the GPAC competition. Midland grabbed the doubles point, while Olya Furmanova won at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2, bringing the Warriors to a 6-1 win.
