Stanford Joins 200-Hit Club in Non-Conference Matchup

MANKATO, Minn. – Playing in their final non-conference game of the season, the Raiders met with Minnesota State, Mankato on the road, as Northwestern fell to the Mavericks 29-4. During the game, third baseman Sam Stanford became the sixth Red Raider to reach 200 career hits.

How It Happened
A big third inning from Minnesota State set the tone as the Raiders dropped today's non-conference contest.

In the sixth inning, Sam Stanford hit a one-out single to right on a full count, collecting his 200th career hit.

Northwestern received contributions late from Luke Wroblewski, who helped the Raiders break onto the scoreboard with an RBI double, scoring Northwestern's first two runs.

The Raiders added a run in both the eighth and ninth innings, getting an RBI single from Kevin Rubio and a sacrifice fly from Mason Porepp.
