Etherington Captures Pitcher of the Week Honors

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern softball senior pitcher Kameryn Etherington has been selected as the GPAC Hauff Mid-America Sports Pitcher of the Week for Week 6.

Hailing from Algona, Iowa, Etherington went 3-0, winning all three of her pitching appearances and compiling 14 strikeouts in an undefeated week for the No. 11 Raiders. In a complete-game shutout over Dakota Wesleyan on Friday, she struck out 10 batters and allowed only three hits.

"Kameryn has really worked on all aspects of her game, and it has risen the level of her teammates," commented head coach Shane Bouman. "We are so blessed by her work ethic and high expectations."

This week's award marks the season's first GPAC weekly selection for the Raiders. Etherington joins teammate Tatum Schmalbeck, who was named the GPAC Player of the Week.
