How It Happened:
Northwestern opened the first inning with Allison Koontz driving in Tatum Schmalbeck from third with a fielder's choice. Dakota Wesleyan responded with two runs, ending the first inning at 2-1 in their favor. In the second inning, Cassidy Gors singled, and Schmalbeck tripled to right center, scoring Gors. The Tigers regained the lead with a solo home run, finishing the inning 3-2. Paige Kingery walked and scored on Koontz's double in the third inning, tying the contest. The Raiders' bats were quiet in the fourth, while Dakota Wesleyan added one run, ending the inning ahead 4-3.

Northwestern surged to a 6-4 lead to start the fifth inning, where Sydney Jacobs walked and eventually scored alongside Faith Kacmarynski and Cassidy Gors, courtesy of Schmalbeck's single. Unfortunately, the Tigers countered with two runs of their own, leveling the score at 6-6. The sixth inning was decisive, as Dakota Wesleyan added a run with a bases-loaded hit by pitch, to take a 7-6 lead, and eventually the win.
