Raiders Victorious as Men’s Tennis Comes Down to the Wire

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Arthur Vicente won his singles match to give Northwestern the match-winning point, as the Raiders defeated Doane 4-3. It was the first time in program history that the Raiders defeated Doane.

Doane took two of three in doubles to earn the match's first point, also winning at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to gain a 3-0 advantage. With work to do in singles, the Raiders pulled off an impressive comeback with wins in each of their No. 3 through No. 6 matches.

After Mateo Flores, Leandro Costa, and Collin Harmelink all won in two sets to knot it up at 3-3, it was down to the No. 5 match to see who would leave with the win. Vicente played to a 7-5 win in the first set, while set two came down to a pro set, which Vicente won 7-5.
