Tornow and Van Maaren Collect All-Conference Honors

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – After helping their team win the GPAC title and advance to the NAIA Championships, Nathan Tornow and Hannah Van Maaren were selected as All-Conference honorees.

"I'm proud of these athletes for all the hard work they have put in," head coach Taylor Decker said. "Nate is the first four-year all-conference member, and I've been honored to coach them both!"

Nathan Tornow – Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.
A four-time all-conference selection, Tornow is a four-year member of the Red Raider cheer team. During his time as a Raider, Northwestern has placed first, second, and fifth (twice) at the annual GPAC meet.

Hannah Van Maaren – Fr., Sheldon, Iowa
Van Maaren earns all-conference accolades in her first season with the Red Raiders. She was a key part of a Northwestern team that improved its score in each competition this year.

Isabelle Smith of Midland University was named the GPAC Cheer Athlete of the Year, and Joe Erickson of Mount Marty and Jordan Smith of Hastings were selected as the GPAC Co-Coaches of the Year.

The Raiders will compete at the NAIA Championships next weekend, March 29-30, in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
