American State Bank Raider Athletes of the Week

Schany & Van Kalsbeek earn the weekly Raider awards for their performances.

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College athletics has named men's basketball student-athlete Alex Van Kalsbeek and women's basketball student-athlete Molly Schany as the Raider Athletes of the Week, presented by American State Bank, for their performances during the week of March 18.

MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Alex Van Kalsbeek, Men's Basketball

Van Kalsbeek (So., Sheldon, Iowa) led the Raiders in scoring twice as Northwestern advanced to the NAIA Men's Basketball Final Site.
In Friday's win over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.), Van Kalsbeek scored 37 points and pulled in nine rebounds.
He led all scorers in a comeback victory on Saturday over Oregon Tech, posting 26 points and seven boards.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Molly Schany, Women's Basketball

A career day for Schany (Sr., Emmetsburg, Iowa) pushed the Raiders past Rio Grande (Ohio) for a First Round win on Friday.
Her 10th double-double came in dominant fashion with a statline of 34 points and 17 rebounds.
The 34 points scored was Schany's career-high.
