How It Happened
The Raiders built up a 2-0 lead through three innings, but the methodical offense of Mount Marty thwarted Northwestern's efforts in game one.

Following a one-out double by Mason Porepp, Isaac Short picked up a base hit to put the game's first run aboard. Luke Wroblewski later scored on a sacrifice fly in the third, extending the Raider lead to 2-0.

The fifth inning changed the game for the home Lancers, who put up eight runs on six hits to take the lead.

Northwestern was able to plate a run in the seventh, but Mount Marty came away as the winner.

How It Happened
The long ball was a factor in game two of Friday's doubleheader, as extra innings were needed to decide a winner.

Defending GPAC Player of the Week Luke Wroblewski got the party started with a one-out solo shot in the first inning to put his team ahead early. Then, after two shutout innings from GPAC Pitcher of the Week Brad Tornow, Mount Marty tied it back up with a solo home run, making it 1-1.

In the eighth inning of the nine-inning contest, Northwestern responded from being down 2-1 to tie the game on a wild pitch, with the score holding until extras.

The Raiders put three across in the top of the 11th with a bases-loaded walk and a 2-RBI double from Isaac Short, helping Northwestern split in their conference opener.

Game Notes:
Up Next: Northwestern has its home opener on Saturday, facing Dakota Wesleyan in a GPAC doubleheader beginning at noon.
