Orange City, IA – Northwestern volleyball kicked off the GPAC tournament playing host to a 3-0 opening round sweep of College of St. Mary.
Set one would be a dominating win for the Raiders 25-16, setting the tone for the night. Attacks came from all angles for the Flames as they faced kills from five different Northwestern attackers. College of St. Mary wasn't going away quietly as they made the next two sets closer each time, but the Raiders still come out on top behind 18 kills from Jazlin Douma, 25-18 and 25-20.
The Northwestern front line put together another great night as Savonne Sterk, Maddy Sampson, and Zavyr Metzger each registered four blocks. Add on four Raiders attacking .300 or higher and it's a well-balanced team that takes the 3-0 sweep in the opening round of the GPAC tournament.
