Orange City, Iowa. – Grand View shot lights out in the Bultman Center and it proved to be just too much for the Red Raiders.
It was a high scoring first quarter for both sides. There were a combined 53 points scored, and Grand View shot 80% from the field. The Raiders were close to matching this high scoring affair and were only trailing 28-25.
Grand View remained unconscious after the short break. They poured on 27 more points on 55% shooting and 67% from beyond the arc. Northwestern's scoring remained efficient as well, just not enough to overcome the deficit before halftime. The scoreboard read 55-47 in favor of Grand View.
Things started to crumble in the third quarter as the Vikings extended their lead to 15, which proved to be enough to get them a victory. The Raiders outscored the Vikings 23-19 in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough as Northwestern gets their first loss of the year 86-97.
Northwestern simply could not get their shots to fall as they finished the game 32-70 from the field and 7-29 from three. However, they took care of the ball, only giving up 8 turnovers.
The loss moves the Raiders to 2-1 on the season as they look to bounce back next week as GPAC action begins.
