Men’s Tennis Sweeps Doubles, Falls 6-1 at Mount Marty

YANKTON, S.D. – After a strong start in the doubles matches, the Northwestern men's tennis team (1-3, 0-0 GPAC) dropped a 6-1 decision in their spring opener at Mount Marty.

In the No. 1 doubles, David Bomgaars and Jorge Menendez won 6-2 in the Red Raider debut of Menendez. They secured the doubles point with a 7-6 win by Leandro Costa/Mateo Flores and a 7-5 victory from Arthur Vicente/Collin Harmelink.

Despite Mount Marty capturing all of the singles points, Northwestern played a tough match, with three matchups being decided in a third set.

Up Next: The Raiders will travel to Mount Vernon, Iowa for a triangular with Cornell (Iowa) and Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday, February 3.
