Red Raiders Fall Short in GPAC Road Test

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Wynne Vandersall won her singles match, but the Raiders dropped a match at Morningside 6-1 in Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) action on Tuesday evening.
 
Vandersall (Sr., Martelle, Iowa) won in a tiebreaking third set over Morningside's Lidia Suarez (3-6, 6-3, 11-9) to get the lone point for Northwestern. Julia Anderson (So., Rapid City, S.D.) was also involved in a pair of close matches, dropping a third set in singles and falling 7-5 in her doubles appearance.
 
The Mustangs kept their undefeated GPAC record alive, moving to 4-0 in conference play and 14-4 overall. Northwestern's record moved to 3-3 in the GPAC, while sitting at 8-9 overall.
 
Up Next: Northwestern will play host to the Concordia (Neb.) Bulldogs on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m.
