Red Raiders Drop 7-0 Decision at Morningside

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Northwestern College men's tennis team (9-8, 2-3 GPAC) made the trip to Morningside University this afternoon in a schedule adjustment to get a match in prior to the weather turning south later this week, falling to the Mustangs 7-0.

Despite the Mustangs taking the doubles point, the Raider duo of Brian VandenBerg (Sr., Mason City, Iowa) and Arthur Vincente (Fr., Sao Paulo, Brazil) picked up the 6-4 win over Maza Martin and Cardelus of Morningside.

In singles play, Morningside would take control of the match, winning all six matchups. Leandro Costa (Fr., Caratinga, Brazil) put up a valiant fight at No. 3 singles. He took the first set 6-4, before falling 6-1, 6-1 to Morningside's Jaime Maza Martin.
