American State Bank Raider Athletes of the Week

Dykstra & Vandersall earn the weekly Raider awards for their performances.

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College athletics has named baseball student-athlete Drew Dykstra and women's tennis student-athlete Wynne Vandersall as the Raider Athletes of the Week, presented by American State Bank, for their performances during the week of March 20.

MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Drew Dykstra, Baseball

Dykstra (So., Urbandale, Iowa) had a career day on the mound in last Monday's 6-2 win over Aquinas (Mich.).
The sophomore southpaw struck out a career-high 10 batters, going 5.0 innings for the win.
He only gave up two hits on the day.
As a staff, Northwestern's pitchers recorded 16 strikeouts.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Wynne Vandersall, Women's Tennis

Vandersall (Sr., Martelle, Iowa) went 2-0 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles over the weekend.
In Northwestern's 9-0 victory over Bethany Lutheran, she did not drop a singles game, winning each set 6-0.
A decisive third set in her singles match on Saturday against Gustavus Adolphus saw her pick up a 10-1 win after falling behind in the first set.
