How It Happened
The Red Raiders dropped another heartbreaker down in Florida to the Eagles of Judson University (Ill.), despite a season-high 12 hits recorded by the offense in the final game of the day.

Judson got on the board first thanks to a bases loaded walk, making it 1-0 JU early. The Raider bats came alive in the second inning, as Jacob Kindhart (Sr., Shawnee, Kan.) and Eli Rash (Jr., Lake Lotawana, Mo.) both notched RBI singles, as Northwestern jumped out to a 3-1 lead after two full innings of play.

In the third, a Cullinan RBI single made it 4-1 Red Raiders, but the Eagles would respond with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the frame to make it even once again, this time at 4-4.

Northwestern broke the game open in the fifth, putting a six-spot on the board, highlighted by a 2-RBI double from Evan Olesen (Sr., Estherville, Iowa). The following inning, a Kindhart sacrifice fly would make it 11-4 Red Raiders.

Again, the Eagles would respond after NWC put up runs. In their half of the sixth, Judson would cut the Raider lead down to two at 11-9, before knotting it up in the seventh at 11-11.

As the home team, Judson would push across the game winning run in the ninth. After a lead-off walk, a pair of passed balls would allow for the game-winning run to cross the plate, as the Eagles prevailed 12-11.
