American State Bank Raider Athletes of the Week

TerWee & Van Kalsbeek earn the weekly Raider awards for their performances.

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College athletics has named men's basketball student-athlete Alex Van Kalsbeek and women's basketball student-athlete Emily TerWee as the Raider Athletes of the Week, presented by American State Bank, for their performances during the week of December 19.

MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Alex Van Kalsbeek, Men's Basketball
  • Van Kalsbeek (So., Sheldon, Iowa) led all scorers with 19 points in Northwestern's win over Westcliff (Calif.) on Saturday.
  • In addition to his scoring output, he pulled down eight rebounds in the win.
  • He has now scored in double-figures 10 times this season.
FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Emily TerWee, Women's Basketball
  • TerWee (Fr., Larchwood, Iowa) secured her first career double-double in an 89-77 win over No. 13 Dakota State (S.D.).
  • She notched career-highs in points (28) and rebounds (12).
  • The freshman reached a career-high in scoring for the second consecutive outing after posting 17 points in her previous appearance.
