Dunlap and Timm Named Second Team All-Conference Performers

First time with multiple athletes named to a team since 2017

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced the 2023 Women's Soccer All-Conference teams today, November 13. Northwestern College athletes Julie Dunlap and Grace Timm were both named Second Team All-Conference performers for their play this season.

It marks the first season multiple Red Raiders have been named to an All-Conference team (First and/or Second Team) since 2017.

For the second-straight season, senior leader Dunlap (Des Moines, Iowa) has been named a Second Team All-Conference performer for the Red Raiders. The midfielder led the team in a multitude of categories: goals scored (7), assists (5), points (19), shots (63), and minutes (1509). Her 63 shots sat fifth in the GPAC this season.

"Julie was the engine that never stopped this season. She played a vital role in the midfield for us," commented head coach Kelli Herman. "Julie was able to draw fouls, keep the ball, and had a knack for creating goal scoring opportunities for herself and teammates."

In her career, Dunlap has earned some sort of end of season honor from the conference, including a pair of Second Team All-Conference accolades (2022, 2023). Her first three seasons on campus, she garnered Honorable Mention honors (2019, 2020, 2021).

Freshman forward Timm (Center City, Minn.) is picking up Second Team honors in her first collegiate season. She sat in a tie for second on the team in goals scored (3) and assists (1), while collecting seven points. She appeared in all 17 matches this season, starting in 15 of them. She was one of three Red Raiders to notch 1,000 minutes on the pitch.

"Grace really grew into her role this season, and started scoring and assisting goals when we needed it the most," commented Herman. "She brought a physical and an aggressive presence on the field."

Northwestern finished the season with an 5-11-1 overall record and a 3-8-1 mark in GPAC play in Herman's first year leading the program.
