Raiders Take on Top NAIA Teams at Blazing Tiger Classic

ASHLAND, Neb. – Of the 23 teams that competed in the Blazing Tiger Invite, 11 of them were ranked in the top-25, but the women did not back down. Emily Haverdink, Ellie Zeutenhorst, Emma Haley, and Julia Fehr would all run PRs and stand against the stacked competition. Teams from Kansas, Oregon, Idaho, Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas, and would all show up to race.

Scott Bahrke said, "The ladies ran really well and all of us coaches are proud of how they handled themselves. Keeping their cool amongst the competition and using each other to keep racing their hardest. They were looking at closing the gap among some of the other GPAC teams, which they accomplished. It will help going into the Conference Championship in two weeks."

Haverdink would once again lead the Raiders to the finish line, in an impressive 36^th over all placing, with a PR time to boot. Caitlin Alberts, experienced against competition like this from racing at the NAIA National XC Meet last year, would come in second for the Raiders. Separated by only 3 seconds would be Zeutenhorst in a PR time of 24:33 for 3^rd on the team, with Haley coming in 4^th at 24:36. Fehr in her PR time would be 5^th for the ladies. Megan Bosch, experienced as a runner, would claim the 6^th place, just off her own PR, followed Allie Hough in the 7^th spot.
